There is no act we can do to be saved.  God gave us the Law (Ex 20).  Matthew 22:37-40 - first act of life as a Christian.   Loving our neighbors as we love ourselves is act of ministry. We all deserved to be judged because we have sinned. Jesus won victory over death.   We will either live eternally with God or etetnally without Him. Eph 2:3 1.  If I break the Law, I deserved to be punished. 2.  Mercy is not getting punishment for what you deserve. 3.  I got what I did not deserve - GRACE goes the extra step. They depend on the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth. He made the sea and everything in it. He can be trusted to do what he says. He does what is right for those who have been hurt. He gives food to the hungry. The Lord frees people locked up in prison. The Lord makes the blind see again. The Lord helps those who are in trouble. The Lord loves those who do right.
