THE SECOND HABIT; Participating in God’s Family

The habit of Fellowship. Hebrews 10:25. Being a committed team for God; Fellowship with believers in a small group and church. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer. (Hebrews 10:25) Why is Fellowship so Important? 1. (Galatians 6:10) I belong in God’s Family with other Believers. So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith. (Ephesians 2:19) So then, you gentiles are not foreigners or strangers any longer; you are now fellow citizens with God’s people and members of the family of God. (Romans 12:5) In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body You are Important and worthwhile;  Christians who are not committed to a fellowship as active members in worsh

The Habit of a Daily Time with God – part two

Victim or Victor - What is your mindset? Victor says: I have a purpose; how can I overcome; I will never stop learning; I will be pleasant. Victim says: Poor me; Life's too hard; I won't learn; I will be abrupt QUOTE: The poor say "I can't afford it"............ "The rich say; how can I afford it" The poor say I cannot do this    ------- The prosperous say how can I do this. Take your Salvation and treasure it. Remember it is yours. 3. You cannot be an effective Christian without The Habit of a Daily Time with God. Matthew 4:4 But Jesus answered, “The scripture says, Man cannot live on bread alone, but needs every word that God speaks. ("But He answered and said, 'It is written, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."'  This verse is from the account of Jesus being tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Satan tempts Jesus to turn stones into bread, but Jesus respond

The Habit of a Daily Time with God

The Habit of a Daily Time with God A time I set aside each day to be alone with God to get to know Him Time alone with God each day. The habit of a daily time with God (Reading God’s Word) James 1:22 & 25. Personal Bible reading and prayer each day . Bible reading and prayer with our God and ourselves. Mark 1:35, James 1:25 and Romans 12:12 •         Why is this important? 1.       We are created to have fellowship with God. (Genesis 1:26-27) Then God said, “And now We will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble Us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small.” So God created human beings, making them to be like Himself. He created them male and female. These verses from the book of Genesis describe the creation of mankind. According to this passage, God created humans in his own image and likeness and gave them the ability to rule over all the creatures on earth. This passage is considered as the f

Spiritual Maturity - four Spiritual Habits

In life we become what we are committed to  – To see what people believe in, look at what they like doing and then you will know what they believe. If people profess to being a Christian and love spending their time everywhere else but with their brothers and sisters let that tell you something. 1.       Putting Christ first in my Time, Relationships, Money and prayer to worship God. Time alone with God each day: The habit of a daily time with God (Reading God’s Word) James 1:22 & 25 . Personal Bible reading and prayer each day. Mark 1:35 and Romans 12:12 2.       The habit of Fellowship: Hebrews 10:25 . Being a committed team for God. Fellowship with Believers in a small group and church. 3.       The habit of Tithing: revealing our heart to God and giving to invest in the future through a tithe to God 1Corinthians 16:1-2; 2Corinthians 8:7; Matthew 6:19-21. 1Timothy 6:18-19 and 2Corinthians 9:6 4.       The habit of Prayer: Romans 12:12. Rejoicing in hope; patie

The purpose of Spiritual Maturity or growing up

Acts 2:42: They devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer   A commitment to the habits necessary for spiritual growth. en we shall no longer be children, carried by the waves and blown about by every shifting wind of the teaching of deceitful men, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent. Instead, by speaking the truth in a spirit of love, we must grow up in every way to Christ, Who is the head. (Ephesians 4:14-15) Misconceptions about Spiritual Growth 1.       Growth is automatic: "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again." Hebrews 5:12 ".. .Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." Philippians 2:12-13 Truth: Spiritual growth is intentional. 2.       Growth is mystical and inte
