Paul, Apostle of Christ

Coming to the cinema "Event Cairns City" is Paul, Apostle of Christ on 29th March, 2018 click here to find out  more about this move ABOUT THE FILM: ... PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is the story of two men. Luke, as a friend and physician, risks his life when he ventures into the city of Rome to visit Paul, who is held captive in Nero’s darkest, bleakest prison cell. But Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians, and does not flinch from executing them in the grisliest ways possible. Before Paul’s death sentence can be enacted, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of “The Way” and the birth of what will come to be known as the church. Bound in chains, Paul’s struggle is internal. He has survived so much—floggings, shipwreck, starvation, stoning, hunger and thirst, cold and exposure—yet as he waits for his appointment with death, he is haunted by the shadows of his past misdeeds. Alone in the dark, he wonders if he has been forgotten .

Draw Life Giving Water From God

(His disciples had gone into town to buy food.)  The woman answered,  You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan—so how can you ask me for a drink? (Jews will not use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)   Jesus answered, If you only knew what God gives and who it is that is asking you for a drink, you would ask him, and he would give you life-giving water.  Sir, the woman said, you don't have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where would you get that life-giving water?  It was our ancestor Jacob who gave us this well; he and his children and his flocks all drank from it. You don't claim to be greater than Jacob, do you?  Jesus answered, Those who drink this water will get thirsty again, but

Mustard Seed Parable

Luke 13:18-21 New International Version (NIV) The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast 18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.” 20 Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds [ a ] of flour until it worked all through the dough.” A small seed that grows into something much larger - it matters what the seed is.  The man planted the seed which grew and when it had grown into a tree it supported the birds of the air and new life (they stayed in its branches) Cross references: Luke 13:18 : Matthew 13:1–52; Mark 4:1–34
