Living the Christian Life - Your Walk

Bible reference:  Romans 8; 2 Corinthians 13:4-6 Jesus ministered among people in all different ways.   When we try to fit people into a box, it doesn't work as we are all different.   Put yourself to the test, to see if we're in the faith.  Jesus won the victory,  we need to know live with Christ. Romans 8:1-17 Where do you reside?  Live by the Spirit; put to death the misdeeds of the sinful nature. If we are God's children, then we are heirs in Christ. Believers will be disciplined by the Lord. It will happen first in Gods house.  We're not talking about condemnation but discipline. By our faith in Christ,  we are secure.  You cannot change by self-will.  The Spirit must work in you.  Corruption of the world or grace of God. By which of these are we governed? God turned his face from his Son on which the condemnation of the world was put on him.  Cross reference: Genesis 6 (corruption of the world) God's divine nature was satisfied by the death of Chris

Quarrelling Over Possessions

Bible References:  Genesis 13:1-18; Genesis 14; Genesis 15 We are not to quarrel over possessions. Jesus is the Lord of the nation's Psalm 2 The nation's of the world will give Jesus account for their actions.  We can't just do what we think.  We are accountable.  You can sound good; have good works but if you are not saved in Christ Jesus, you have missed out on your life; purpose and salvation.  In Genesis 13,  Lot sees the beautiful, fertile land near Sodom and Gormorrah.  This was where the cities of immorality and perversion stood.  Lot saw this and wanted it.   However, Abram obeys God.  He travels to sacred tree's at Mamre. He builds an altar  and worships God. In Romans 4:3, Abraham was considered righteous.  If you put your faith and trust in God you will live right.  Psalm 1 tells of a righteous man. Both Abraham and Lot started out the same; but one stood in streams of righteousness; one in the mire of wordly living.  God gave the land to Abraham- pro

Seven Principles To Learn

7 Principles to learn The Bible tells us he wants all people to know him.  We needto get God's word view. 1.  Give God's word first place in my life  Joshua 1:8  we should goto God's word first; not FB or people.   We need to confess our sin and repent. 2.  Live your life in manner that pleases God. 3.  Keep unforgiveness and strife completely out of your life. 4.1 Corinthans 13 ( love)  walk in love.  Read and study.  Walk in God's love. 5.  Line your words with God's Words.  To change our life;  change our mind with HS  speaking into your life. 6.  Maintain an attitude of gratitude for all that God has done for you. (Build each other up and speak well of each other ) 7.  Honour God continually by giving back to Him.  (Our life,  not because we owe him but because we love him) Always remember to say "I am the Blessed. " Israel sees itself as the Blessed. God does not want broken down people working for him. Regardless of how big a mess any sit

The Promise Fulfilled for Time and Eternity

Galatians 4:21-31 The difference between believers who rested in Christ only, and those who trusted in the law, is explained by the lives of Isaac and Ishmael. These things are an example and the Spirit of God points out something further. Hagar and Sarah are examples of the new and old covenant. The heavenly Jerusalem, the true church from above, represented by Sarah, is in a state of freedom, and is the mother of all believers, who are born of the Holy Spirit.  They were by regeneration and true faith, made a part of the true seed of Abraham, according to the promise made to him.  Hagar is of the earth, always fighting for survival receiving their reward while on earth and never taking it into eternal life. A life of torment – never being good enough. So then, we are not children of the bond-woman, but of the free. We would not have found out this example in the history of Sarah and Hagar, if it had not been shown to us, and this is what was intended by the Holy Spirit

Hot OR Cold

Laodicea: Hot or Cold - Laodiceans had a unique understanding of why lukewarm water was worthless. Today, we are to be like a hot bath or a cold drink to a world in need of cleansing and refreshment. Bible References:  Revelation 3:15-18; Matthew 16:13-20 ____________________________________________________________________________ History The leading city in the valley during the first century, Laodicea was destroyed by an earthquake in AD 60. According to Roman writer Tacticus, Rome offered to pay for the city to be rebuilt, but the people declined, saying that they were wealthy enough to restore their own city. Industry The city was renowned for three main industries: ■A banking center for the province of Asia Minor, including a gold exchange; ■The textile center where glossy, black wool was woven into garments called trimata that were prized in the Roman world; ■The location of a major medical school known worldwide and where an eye salve called Phyrigian powder was made

Acts Chapter 12

Acts 12 The Message (MSG) Acts 12 Peter Under Heavy Guard 1-4 That's when King Herod got it into his head to go after some of the church members. He murdered James, John's brother. When he saw how much it raised his popularity ratings with the Jews, he arrested Peter—all this during Passover Week, mind you—and had him thrown in jail, putting four squads of four soldiers each to guard him. He was planning a public lynching after Passover. 5 All the time that Peter was under heavy guard in the jailhouse, the church prayed for him most strenuously. 6 Then the time came for Herod to bring him out for the kill. That night, even though shackled to two soldiers, one on either side, Peter slept like a baby. And there were guards at the door keeping their eyes on the place. Herod was taking no chances! 7-9 Suddenly there was an angel at his side and light flooding the room. The angel shook Peter and got him up: "Hurry!" The handcuffs fell off his wrists. The angel said,

The Voice of Experience

Bible readings from Sunday 16th January Message: Acts 17:26-27 Galations 6:7 Genesis Chapter 1:1 Eccelesiates Chapter 3 Romans 2:14-15 Ecclesiates 2:18 1 Corinthians chapter 13 Matthew 5:1-12 10 Commandments - Exodus chapter 20:1-17 We want the world to be fair, but it isn't.  Our view of what is fair may be different from another's view of what is fair.  People deny the existence of God, but that does not mean God does not exist.  Walk through Israel and surrounding areas to see historical evidence.  Look at creation.  Genesis chapter one verse 1 says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
