If I lost everything would it destroy my life?

If you lost everything, would it destroy your life? We work so hard to get things, to make ministries work, to be accepted, to be saved ?!  But as God's people, as Christians it is Jesus who carries us.  1 Peter 4:2-4 Love is a gift given by God - it's our choice to respond to His love Christians are to be affectionate in  a real way - caring, honest, integrity - and express this in the local church.  We all fall short, we all need to be given a second chance.  We all need help.  Ernest affection will help carry us - love covers a multitude of sins.  We are to love each other regardless and like the early church experienced - people will see it and respond to it. Love: we're not talking about romantic love.  We're talking about the choice to care, show charity (love) as God shows it.  It's not how we feel, we're to respond to others like JC did.  All Chrisitans are to express God's love. Offer hospitality without grumbling Serve each other Have p

Marriage - a picture of Christ's relationship with the Church

Bible References: 1 Peter ch 3; Prov 31; Ephesians ch 5; Ephesians 5:22-31 Obey God in Our Marriages.  Why is Marriage important?  It is a picture of Christ's relationship with the Church.  God has set an order in marriage.  Wives are to submit (obey) their husbands.  Husbands are to love their wives and submit to God (humble themselves).  God wants husbands to be husbands - NOT bosses in their marriage.  Being a husband is not a title - it is living the role (fulfilling the role). Marriage is between one man and one woman for life.  Salvation is between God and person.  As Christ loved the Church so much He was willing to give up everything for the welfare of the Church.  As Christ put aside even his life for the Church, a husband puts aside "his life"for his wife's welfare. Obedience from wife will come when a husband shows tender love.  The husband wants to make his wife holy - totally set apart just for him.  (Jesus Christ sets the Church a part for himsel

Be stranger's and exiles in Satan's world

C/Ref: 1 Peter 2:11-12 Satan wants to be god. God wants us to be humble - Satan wants us to be proud God wants us to love others - Satan wants us to be selfish God wants us to be pure - Satan wants us to be full of lust God wants us to be obedient - Satan wants us to rebel We are the targets in a spiritual war (1 Peter 2:11). Satan wants to keep us under his control.  He knows how he can tempt us by appealing to our 'flesh'. James 4:1 We should live, as God wants us to (1 Peter 2:12) - in good conducts, in pure lives and htis will silence our enemies and help them to believe in God. Satan was to take your past and make it your future. (Mind games, low self esteem, anger, fear,"you will never be good enough") When we ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Saviour God deals with our past and gives us a future.  So then we an live as 1 Peter 2:12 directs us. "Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoer

Rev Richard Johnson - Do you know who He was?

Most of us didn’t learn anything about Richard Johnson in Australian history lessons… he rarely figures at all. As we’ll see, he is a man very much after our own heart, and from whom we can learn a great deal. Another reason is that the reactions of two key men in the colony to the gospel preached by Johnson illustrates our responses – and those of our friends – to the gospel today. And lastly, we need to think about what we might render to the Lord for what he has done for us. But why would anyone volunteer to come as Chaplain on a fleet of convicts to sail to the end of the world?   more... Psalm 116:12

Being Built into a Spiritual Building

If you don't build your life on the firm foundation you will build your life on things you think you need.  Building on a firm foundation:  The Bible, OT Promises, Abrahamic Covenant, NT promises, Jesus Christ.
