Ephesians 6: 5-9 This passage is not about fairness; God is a god of justice; we are to look at passage through eyes of God not the world. The most common form of slavery today is  Debt.  Other forms of slavery is welfare; children being used as slaves; etc. God is not benevolent. Hand is to bring good governance, the foot is to keep you accountable; eye is to keep you alert, discerning. Discipline; ability to be industrious, does not  fix your life.   Christian duties of servants and masters.  Both boss and workers are important.   Rules for servant class come first; both serve to the Lord. This is the same for all people.  This is not about fairness; but obedience. Servants were generally slaves during the time Paul wrote.  The influence of Christianity that helped to bring about an end to slaves serving in chains. Ephesians 5:22-33 If you want to do one thing to cause strife, strike at marriage. 1+1=1 The duty of the wife is to submit.  Christ does not hold us to the ground.  A wife should honor and obey and love her husband.  Responding love. First love  - attraction love Wife is called to have responding love. Husband is to have agape love - lay his life down for his wife. Children come into a family not a marriage.   Husband and wife come into marriage. Romans 3:23 God wants to take us back to the glory that Adam and Eve had before sin came into the world. Your righteousness is found in Christ. This passage shows us Christ's love for his bride.  It's not us who makes us right but who we are in - ie in Christ. Marriage gets attacked the  most in the world today.  We need to be a Light in the World and let it shine. Show our relationship with the One Who saves us. The enemy will attack our families.  Wives to respect our husbands.  Husbands are to love their wives.  Offsp

Ephesians 5:1-7 It's one thing to live as Christ wants us to but we have to shine the Light. Make a difference! God is not about a bunch of laws and regulations.   God is about us being His people. You can not earn your righteous.   God wants us build you up not pull us down. What pulls the church down: - greed - sexual immorality - impurity - any thought that does not build the body is unhealthy and sinful; - indecency - covetness - any conversation that does not matter to God we should not be talking about; - Col 3:8 - give thanks to God - when you speak properly you speak into our lives; - when we speak what God wants we build; when we speak negative we destroy; - the abuse of the tongue is opposed to holiness; - God wants us to live holiness and to shine! Our response should be heartfelt and wanting to love God. Acts 15 ( v 19-21) This is to help us be the people of God .
