2 Corinthians 1:1-12

2 Corinthians 1:1-12 1 From Paul, chosen by God to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, and from Timothy, who is also a follower. To God's church in Corinth and to all of God's people in Achaia.  2 I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!  3 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort.  4 He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in trouble.  5 We share in the terrible sufferings of Christ, but also in the wonderful comfort he gives.  6 We suffer in the hope that you will be comforted and saved. And because we are comforted, you will also be comforted, as you patiently endure suffering like ours.  7 You never disappoint us. You suffered as much as we did, and we know that you will be comforted as we were.  8 My friends, I want you to know what a hard time we had in Asia. Our sufferings were so horrible and so

Four life building Habits

Putting Christ first in my Time, Relationships, Money  and prayer  to worship God 1. Time alone with God each day. The habit of a daily time with God (Reading God’s Word)  James 1:22 & 25. Personal Bible reading and prayer each day. Mark 1:35, James 1:25 and Romans 12:1 2. The habit of Fellowship Hebrews 10:25. Being a committed team for God. Fellowship with  believers in a small group and church. 3. The habit of Tithing; revealing our heart to God and giving to invest in the future through a weekly tithe to God 1Corinthians 16:2; 2Corinthians 8:7; Matthew 6:19-21. 1Timothy 6:18-19 and  2Corinthians 9:6 4. The habit of Prayer Romans 12:12. By developing these four habits we will; - 1.Know the Word of God 2.Have the mind of God 3.Have the heart of God     4.Do all to the glory of God        5.Have the character of God Mature Believers are called Disciples:I cannot be a Disciple without being disciplined The more disciplined I become the more God can use me. Jesus said, “Whoever do

Jesus went to Nazareth

Luke 4:16 Then Jesus went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath he went as usual to the synagogue. He stood up to read the Scriptures 17 and was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it is written, 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed 19 and announce that the time has come when the Lord will save his people." 20 Jesus rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. All the people in the synagogue had their eyes fixed on him, 21 as he said to them, "This passage of scripture has come true today, as you heard it being read." Acts 1:8 But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the ea

About the Holy Spirit

You always resist the Holy Spirit . . . Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God . . . Do not quench the Spirit.   It is the will of God that we walk in daily dependence upon the Holy Spirit. It is God's desire that we seek Him for the fullness of the Spirit's work in and through our lives. Three wrong responses that undermine the will of God are resisting, grieving, and quenching the Holy Spirit of the Lord. Acts 7:48-60;  When Stephen was on trial before the religious leaders of Israel, he preached a powerful sermon declaring the faithfulness of God toward His consistently unfaithful nation. He concluded his message with a pointed, radical, accurate evaluation. "You stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you" (Acts 7:51). Here we are given the kind of attitudes that oppose the work of the Spirit. These people were "stiff necked." They were stubborn and self-willed. They wanted

More on Praying for the Fullness of the Spirit

Luke 11:9 And I say to you, Ask and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives. And he who seeks finds. And to him who knocks it shall be opened. 11 For what father of you, if the son asks for bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a snake for a fish? 12 Or if he shall ask for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? If anyone thirsts, let him come to Jesus and drink. He who believes in Jesus, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Jesus spoke this concerning the Holy Spirit. John 7:37  And in the last day of the great feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, "Out of his
