Walk in Unity.

Love each other.  Like each other.

Ephesians 4:1-6

The first 3 chapters of Ephesians sets out how to live as God's people.

Popular belief today is that you can be a Christian and be a loner.  Scripture does not teach this.

We are to walk as God's people.   We are no longer our own but we are to walk as one of God's people; in his way.  Important to God and for our salvation.

God wants us to be proud of walking his way but not be proud in it.  Don't think we are far above or we are better. We are not in  competition with each other.  We are to walk life together.

Meek:  I know what's it like to have and not  have but I am content.

When strife gets in your life you won't cope unless you are walking life with God.

1 Corinthians 10:13
2 Corinthians   5:10

If you are finding it hard to forgive then you have not looked at yourself and what is going on in your life.

You cannot livein unity when you start to think you are better than someone else.

But by meekness and not competition we are to live together.   One hope, one faith, one heart, one author (God), we find our nature in God's nature.   God forgives, so we should forgive.

We are the vessels in which God lives.  The church should be the light to the world.

Our first walk should be unity.  If you are not in unity with God's people  then you are not living in His will.

Now we are to put what we've learnt in first 3 chapters into action.  First action is unity.  Unity with other Christians is part of our salvation.
It's not an option.

God has called us to be together.   It's part of our salvation.

God wants us to put ourselves in a place where we can grow up. Become mature.

If you build a house on a good foundation you don't keep rebuilding the house.  The unity needs to be affected by the Holy Spirit.   Not uniformity.

Unity is not about a hollow walk.  We should be looking to help someone else not take from someonw else.

We don't make unity; we keep it.  We need to keep working to keep walkingin unity.   Patience, love, life.

In the bond of peace; not by the bond of peace.  You can't be a Christian on the fence; you're either in or out.  Unity must be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.   Outward signs do not bind Christians; peace with God through Holy Spirit, part of God's family.

We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home.
