Bible Reference: John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes (faith, trust, this is an action word) in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
1 Timothy 2:1-6 “I urge, then, first of all that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. That is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witness to at the proper time.”
Hebrews 4:1-11
What are we resting in
? We rest in the finished work of Christ. We rest in God. What does this mean? We are to be “human beings” not “human doings”. God has done salvation for us – through Christ. All we have to do is take the rest He has given us and…rest.
Hebrews: 4:11
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
