Knowing Jesus...

Romans 8:26; Acts17:4

Jesus is Messiah whether or not we believe.

Having a knowledge of Jesus Christ doesn't mean that you are a Christian.

We need to be in a place of Communication with God.  Not just talking but also listening to God.

Paul was aware in Corinthian church who were leaders but not believers.

2 Corinthians 13:5

1 Thessalonions 1:5-10

You should know for sure if you are going to heaven or not.  If you are not sure, you need seek it out.

You can know about Christ is not being saved.  You must be convicted that you have a need that only God can fill.

Unpardonable sin = rejected God.  That is what Adam and Eve did; it's what we have been doing ever since.

To find out, cry out to Jesus.  Our salvation is in Jesus Christ.  If you want to know Father, know Jesus.

Secondly they received message with joy.  These fellows in Thessalonica didn't get a better life after they became believers; life became worse.  Yet they found joy in the Holy Spirit.   They obeyed Jesus as Lord and followed his teaching.  They gave over to Jesus, teacher, anointed one.

Repent, repent and sin no more...

The people turned from idols to God.  Do we still have idols today?  Repentence is turning away from what you do that is against God and not doing that again.

Turning from what you are doing that is getting you in strife and doing something that is helping us to do what is right.

Remorse is not taking an action.  Repentence is doing something positive about problem.  Its not about feeling remorseful, its about what we will do to make positive change.

With Repentence comes the conviction to fix it.  Don't repeat same mistake ovet and over.  When we put something ahead of God it becomes an idol.

When we want to be friends with the world, we make this an idol.  Many people today think Repentence is feeling sorrowful about doing something wrong.

You will feel:  emotions; intellect.

Anything else that other than the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help us make a decision is an idol.

Mark 1:4

Acts 2 37-38

Without repentence and turning to Jesus there is no gift of the Holy Spirit.

In the model church (Thessalonica) they made repentence a practice that they lived out.

We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
