Colossians 1:28
Colossians 1:28
He wants us to grow up! Men and women are to grow up; mature into Christ Jesus. God wants to do a work in our life - to turn us intothe person who is like Jesus Christ. We need to exercise our faith; allow God to grow us up and do a work in our lives. We can only overcome sin in the Lord. Paul prays so that he might see them and supply what is lacking in their faith. They had to love one another and all people. (v 11-13)
What we do in secret affects others. It allows the enemy to come against us.
1 Corinthians 6:12-20
It's so important that we remain holy, set apart for God. We need to realise how special we are (Christians) are to him?
We are to live our lives to be honouring to God. Church needed to remember that holiness is important. The church at Thessalonica was casual about immorality. First act - we must worship God.
Philippians - selfishness and pride.
Corinth - carnal and wordly.
Galatians - legalistic (man's rules rather than living by faith).
Traditions are man made; God gives culture.
We are not to judge or think we're better. Debt is the biggest form of slavery in the world today. We are to practice holiness. Live to please God.
