Do We Pass The Test?

Bible References:  1 John 4:7-21; 1 John 3:1-18; Roman's 12:1-2; John 8:28-52

God's love is not an emotion, but is His nature, governing His actions.

  • True Salvation: Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
  • True Fellowship: No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.   This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 1 John 4:12-13
  • True Faith:  If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:15-16
  • True Obedience: We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.  And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. 1 John 4:19-21
"We love because He first loved us..."
  • The sign of being born again - Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God; We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.
  • The sign of becoming like Jesus:  No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
  • The sign of being Spirit-controlled: This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
Evidence of True Fellowship:

God's work is finished -
  • People will see His love - Romans 5:6-11
  • We rejoice in our relationship - John 1:12-13
  • We realise that our purpose is to be like Him -  Philippians 3:20-21
  • We respond with purity - 1 John 3:3
The Test of Those who are born of God or Those who are of the devil
  • The "sin" test - John 8:34-44
  • The "love" test - Lev.19:18-34 1 John 3:14
  • The "obedience" test - 1 John 3:3:19-14
  • Have confidence in the Lord
  • Abide in the Lord

The Voice of Experience

Bible readings from Sunday 16th January Message: Acts 17:26-27 Galations 6:7 Genesis Chapter 1:1 Eccelesiates Chapter 3 Romans 2:14-15 Ecclesiates 2:18 1 Corinthians chapter 13 Matthew 5:1-12 10 Commandments - Exodus chapter 20:1-17 We want the world to be fair, but it isn't.  Our view of what is fair may be different from another's view of what is fair.  People deny the existence of God, but that does not mean God does not exist.  Walk through Israel and surrounding areas to see historical evidence.  Look at creation.  Genesis chapter one verse 1 says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
