Living as a Christian

It's important how we live.  In Australia, people say it doesn't matter what we do in private.   But it does affect.  Living as a Christian is very important.

Bible Reference:  1 Peter 2:21-25
1 Peter chapter 1

Being A True Christian

If we don't believe it, then we may as well join a Social club.  Living as a Christian matters.   How we live matters in both our private and public life.   What we do in private will reflect in our public life; what people see.

We are to become obedient to Jesus Christ.   Not to the latest program; person; activity.

God made a new covenant with the Gentile people because Israel walked away from the covenant God had with them.  He never did away with the covenant He made we with Israel.

Romans 6:17-18

You will be with God or be with the enemy.   You will live with and be obedient to God or you will be obedient to the enemy.

Reinhart Bonkhe - a lot of Christians run around and put a bit of holy on.  But to put the blood of Jesus on is like washing yourself with a cake of soap.  Get clean by using the soap.

Hebrews 11:6  - a rewarded of those who diligently seek him.

1 Peter 2:18-19 - we are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.   We are washed clean.   We are to live in the light 1 John 1:7.  Just give God your sin and go for reconciliation and get on living with Him.  The blood of Jesus washes your sin.  You are washed clean.  The next part is to walk in obedience.

Romans 9 - God interested in cleaning up lives.

Hebrews 9:14 - we are provided with eternal freedom.

God wants you cleaned up.  He doesn't want you to be frozen.  We are in eternal covenant with God.  Hebrews 13:20

God calls us to be born again. He gives us a new spirit; new life.  Jesus won victory on the cross, He won the right to re-birth our spirit.

John 3:3
- be born by water and the spirit
- you must be born again
- the world cannot perseve
- 1 Peter 1:23
- John 1:13
-  God is our Father
- We are his children.   Everyone born is a creation of God.  When you give your life to God by faith in Christ Jesus, you become a child of God.
- We have hope.

1 Peter 1:3 and 4.
God has began his work in our lives.  Our inheritance in heaven is available now.

v 3 We have new birth in Christ.   We don't want to be like Esau who sold his inheritance to his brother.   Jesus paid for your inheritance on the cross.   it cost him everything.

1 Peter 1:5-7  in the past you were born again.   In the present you are in God's presence.   God will finish his work in our lives.

Jesus came as a suffering lamb.  When He returns He will come as s warrior.   Those who reject Him; pray for them.  Jesus is Big enough to handle the critics.

1 Peter 1:7-9  our future is bigger than everything.

The Voice of Experience

Bible readings from Sunday 16th January Message: Acts 17:26-27 Galations 6:7 Genesis Chapter 1:1 Eccelesiates Chapter 3 Romans 2:14-15 Ecclesiates 2:18 1 Corinthians chapter 13 Matthew 5:1-12 10 Commandments - Exodus chapter 20:1-17 We want the world to be fair, but it isn't.  Our view of what is fair may be different from another's view of what is fair.  People deny the existence of God, but that does not mean God does not exist.  Walk through Israel and surrounding areas to see historical evidence.  Look at creation.  Genesis chapter one verse 1 says "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
