Jesus Christ - Our Lord, Our Savior

Bible reference:  John 3:1-17

We have to be born of water and the spirit.   We are born of water - natural birth.  In Jesus,  we are born of the spirit (born again).

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures,  that he was buried,  that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures...

We live in the age of information.   In Australia,  people are praying and we are seeing strife.  The first step in bringing the nation back.

We can't boil the Gospel down to a few words.   The Gospel message is Good News.  It addresses the problem we all have.  Sin.  We all sin.  God has to address this.   By Christ death on the cross,  he became our substitute.   He took our punishment,  that was rightly ours.

We cannot achieve God's forgiveness through good works.  People need salvation and be assured of our place in heaven.   Christian's are assured of this because God says.  Salvation is ordered to mankind.

Mark 1:14-15 Jesus' first message was 'repent'.  You give your heart to the Lord,  you begin a transformation.   God is real.  It is not a fake thing.  Our salvation,  walking with the Lord,  can change a nation. 2000 years on, the gospel message is still changing the world.

God loves you and has a plan for your life.  I live the plan God has for my life.

Due to sin, people are separated from God.

Through Jesus Christ,  he is the way.  We are to repent; we call him Lord.  He is Lord of our destiny.  Jesus is the only way to God.

From reading the Bible,  we know Jesus travelled from place to place,  confronted the religious leaders, built a movement,  healed people who were sick, delivered people from disabilities,  demons.

Christian's proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.   When we become silent, someone else will proclaim a message - their version of 'good news '.

The early church proclaimed the good news.   They talked, shared,  cared for others.

The kingdom of God is not just about going to heaven one day.  It's about now.  Jesus shows this in the Lord's prayer-your will be done as it is heaven...

Jesus lived out the proclamation through the years of teaching, expelling demonic influence,  healing the sick, confronting the powers of the day head on - spiritual and physical.

Christian life is not about an easy walk,  it's about getting dirty.  Let family know that Jesus loves them.

The spirit makes us sure of what we will be.  Roman's 8:23

God wants to heal the whole person.   God wants to contend with what matters.

Our Gospel does not change from what Mark stated at the start of his gospel  - repent,  the kingdom of God is at hand.

God's work revealed in Jesus.

It's down to us.  When we encounter this reconciliation with one another,  Good news happens.

The Voice of Experience

We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
