Living the Christian Life - Your Walk

Bible reference:  Romans 8; 2 Corinthians 13:4-6

Jesus ministered among people in all different ways.   When we try to fit people into a box, it doesn't work as we are all different.

Put yourself to the test, to see if we're in the faith.  Jesus won the victory,  we need to know live with Christ.

Romans 8:1-17

Where do you reside?  Live by the Spirit; put to death the misdeeds of the sinful nature.

If we are God's children, then we are heirs in Christ.

Believers will be disciplined by the Lord. It will happen first in Gods house.  We're not talking about condemnation but discipline.

By our faith in Christ,  we are secure.  You cannot change by self-will.  The Spirit must work in you.  Corruption of the world or grace of God.

By which of these are we governed?

God turned his face from his Son on which the condemnation of the world was put on him.

Cross reference: Genesis 6 (corruption of the world)

God's divine nature was satisfied by the death of Christ on the cross.  The way of salvation was opened.   The righteousness of the Law was fulfilled in us, because of Christ.   You can be the best person in the world,  you won't get into heaven.   It's what Christ has done in you.

Those who live in the pleasure of the world are dead.  When we become anxious,  go back to God.   When we get into the carnal mindset, it's an enemy of God.   Only in Christ,  can the requirements to be saved be met.

2 Corinthians 13:4-6 test yourself to see if you are in Christ.   Living the Christian life is done by walking in the Spirit.   The righteousness of Christ is put in us.   Our part is faith- God's ability to do this.

Our duty?  Walk in the Spirit,  not after the flesh.  I don't make the rules, God does.

Let us by the Spirit die more and more to the flesh.  Let us walk in the Spirit and let God transform our lives.   When we do the work, we're not letting God do the work.

God wants us to be human beings not human doings.   We do not have a Spirit of bondage but a Spirit of freedom.

Romans 8:1-17 we are God's children.

1 John 3:9 we know we are the children of God when we are led by the Spirit.   We will have the witness of the Spirit in our life.

We have this Christian life with absolute grace.  Eternal deliverance because of Christ.   Alive in Christ now before God.   You are righteous.  We should testimony after testimony of the greatness of God in our life.   John 15 explains about how we are grafted into God's family.

God's people are led by the Spirit of God.   When we travel,  we follow guides.  If you go into battle,  you follow a Captain.  We are not driven, but led like sheep by the Spirit of God.   When you try to live by the Law, you will be driven, not led.

Where do you find truth?  Only in God.  God's Law is absolute.   If you break a little,  you break the lot.  Only by grace through faith in Christ  can we be saved and made right.

Sometimes when you walk in the,  the world will think you are bonkers.  Think of Joshua - walls of Jericho.

Worry, anxiety.   You won't add a day to your life.  We don't have the Spirit of bondage.   We are in God's family - by Spirit of adoption. We have a witness to live as God's children.   We don't have a Spirit of slavery,  but freedom.  Christ's freedom is real freedom,  he doesn't operate in bondage.

The Voice of Experience

We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
