2 Chronicles 20:7: Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
Isaiah 41:8: But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
Can any heathen god raise up anyone to righteousness and make him victorious over the nations? The Lord did so with Abraham. Sinners encourage one another in the ways of sin; shall not the servants of the living God stir up one another in his service? God's people are the seed of Abraham his friend. This is certainly the highest title ever given to a mortal. It means that Abraham, by Divine grace, was made like to God, and that he was admitted to communion with Him. Happy are the servants of the Lord, whom he has called to be his friends, and to walk with him in faith and holy obedience.
James 2:23: And the scripture was fulfilled
which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for
righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Romans
4:1: What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the
flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to
glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. The faith that made him righteous
Romans 4: 9-25; faith that rested in God
Galatians
3:6: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, in thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.-9 he is the spiritual father of all believers
Galatians
3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; though it be but a man's
covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulled, or added thereto. 16 Now
to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as
of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say, that
the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was
four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the
promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more
of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then served the
law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom
the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. -20 he was blessed
because of the promise
Hebrews 11:8-21 Example of faith, obedience and faithfulness. God
was not ashamed to be called their God.
James 2:20: You fool! Do you want to be shown that faith without actions is useless? 21 How was our ancestor Abraham put right with God? It was through his actions, when he offered his son Isaac on the altar. 22 Can't you see? His faith and his actions worked together; his faith was made perfect through his actions. 23 And the scripture came true that said, "Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous." And so Abraham was called God's friend. 24 You see, then, that it is by our actions that we are put right with God, and not by our faith alone.
