GRACE

Karma in India or Hindu philosophy a universal causal law by which good or bad actions determine the future modes of an individual’s existence.

Grace is the opposite of karma, which is all about getting what you deserve. Grace is about getting what you don’t deserve.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God

In His grace, God is willing to forgive us and bless us, despite the fact that we fall short of living righteously.

In Christian terms, grace can be generally defined as “God’s favour toward the unworthy” or “God’s compassion on the undeserving.”

Grace is a most important concept in the Bible, Christianity and the world. It is most clearly expressed in the promises God reveals in the scripture and embodied in Jesus Christ.

Grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely, the peace of God given to the restless or the unmerited favour of God.

Romans 5:12-21 Speaks of death through Adam and life through Christ

Romans 5:21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God shows us His power through our weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9 and He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness”.

Ephesians 2:4-9

4. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5. Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6. And raised us up together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

7. That the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of his grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus

8. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not for yourselves, it is the gift of God,

9. Not of works unless anyone should boast.

It is important to fully understand that we are saved though faith by the grace of God and not by any works that you can do. Jesus Christ went to the cross, died and was raised again so that we could receive God’s grace.

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight; we “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 2:18). And how does this happen?

Through the five means of grace, which are prayer, searching the scriptures, the lord’s supper, fasting and Christian fellowship. (Elaine A. Heath)

Acts 21:32 And know brethren, I commend you to God and the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

And don’t forget grace is: "A short prayer at a meal asking a blessing or giving thanks"

An example of the grace given to me is;

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

We don't know from one day to the next what will happen but God is our constant.  We are not here to build "castles" but to proclaim the Message and when we're done we take the Father's hand and go home. The following story shows us the voice of experience - we can learn a lot from a child's perspective... Sandcastles by
