Timothy - Will there be any stars in my crown?

2 Timothy 4:1-8 The Lord called Timothy to do a work. Forgiveness - reconciliation Paul writes to Timothy - Paul charges (gives him a direction) Timothy. Before God and Jesus Christ who will judge the living and the dead; People who hurt us - God will be the judge; Paul understood the spiritual reality of how to conduct yourself; If you take advice from a friend who will live out that advice in the presence of God; Preach the Word! - That was the gifting given to Timothy by God; Be ready all the time to preach (in and out of season ); Not just know the Word; not just read the Word but Preach the Word! Preach about Jesus; not about yourself. Forget about yourself and preach Jesus! Preach when easy; preach when hard. Preach when fruit evident and when it is concealed. Convince, rebuke, confront. 2 Timothy 4 God is doing something wonderful in us. Left to ourselves we will do something different but allow God to make the change in your life. Look to the Word. Job 14:7-9 Rise Up

To Dress and to Keep

Psalm 68:6 In our daily life we often wonder who we are, what we are doing (even in this church). Genesis 1 Man was created  for a purpose - to be in relationship.  Everyone has a free will.  When God made Adam and Eve He gave them some special things.  God is god  of past, present and future.   We need to be ready everyday for  Christ's return. Romans 17-20 We are part of God's creation.   Genesis is the seed bed of the whole Bible.   Where everything is found.  The Old Testament is in New revealed; and the New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed. God is not mysterious.   He wants to be in a daily relationship with us each day.  He created us to be special people.  God has given us a talent to take hold of and use and further His kingdom. Like building a house where there are specialized trades; each comes and the house is built into one.   The same in Church-each of us has a talent given by God to contribute to the body. Genesis 2 (v15)  God has taken each o

Heralders of the Gospel ( Part 8)

•  Salvation •  Serve Jesus Paul is writing to Timothy and instructing him to serve Christ. Jesus came to testify about God the Father.  We are called to love and serve God.  We are about serving God.  This is our first duty.  Helping others comes from serving God.  Jesus wasn't just another person in the street.   Jesus came as a rabbi with authority. Jesus is the Son of God.   He had authority.      Jesus told his disciples to love one another.   This is how to reveal God in our lives. 2 Timothy 2 God's word is not chained.  It is always free to do what God wants. If we are faithless;  he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. We need to be faithful to our Captain.   To please Christ.   How do you overcome your sin?  Turn to Christ.   We have the choice.   If God did this we wouldn't have the choice.  Yet God gives us the freedom of choice.  That’s how free God allows us. The prize of the race for an athlete is to finish the race.  A soldier gets inv
