Is My life affected by my circumstances or do I build on my dream

I have a friend who spent several years in prison. When he was released he made a comment to me that everyone he seen after his release was a lot happier. What he came to realise was that he was the one who was happier. Because he was happier he spread this where ever he went. You see he had made some decisions for his life and these decisions were not based on his circumstances but on what was important to him. So when something went wrong it did not alter his happiness. His focus was on where his life was going and not on what went wrong. He would count his blessings and name them.  It is like the saying – two prisoners looked out the window – one saw stars and one saw bars. It is important to take in to build up our lives – it is also important to give out, this also builds up our lives. We learn as much from giving of ourselves as we do from taking in. What we speak with our tongue needs to be guarded. So when we lift others up we also do the same for ourselves. People who   achi

Praising God; Acts 10:44-48

Acts 10: 44 While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit took control of everyone who was listening. 45 Some Jewish followers of the Lord had come with Peter, and they were surprised that the Holy Spirit had been given to Gentiles. 46 Now they were hearing Gentiles speaking unknown languages and praising God. Peter said, 47 "These Gentiles have been given the Holy Spirit, just as we have! I am certain that no one would dare stop us from baptizing them." 48 Peter ordered them to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, and they asked him to stay on for a few days. How did the disciples know that the people in Cornelius’ household were filled with the Holy Spirit? Acts10:46. Now they were hearing Gentiles speaking unknown languages and praising God . There are many examples of the baptism in the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. In almost every example there is one common experience either stated, or implied. When these early believers received the baptism in the Holy S

Firstly about the Holy Spirit

Read John 12:24-26; - 24 I am telling you the truth: a grain of wheat remains no more than a single grain unless it is dropped into the ground and dies. If it does die, then it produces many grains. 25 Those who love their own life will lose it; those who hate their own life in this world will keep it for life eternal. 26 Whoever wants to serve me must follow me, so that my servant will be with me where I am. And my Father will honour anyone who serves me. •            We live in a selfish and self-absorbed culture like few other eras in human history.   •            We read articles like "We Have Too Much," revealing how people crave things that make them feel good—cruises, makeovers, golf lessons, and so on. It's a tragic scenario to see people spend buckets of money to give themselves grins. We are the most entitled who have ever lived. It is all about me. •            Yet all of this material abundance hasn't made anyone happier. More stuff doesn't trans

Isaiah 11:1-4; the Righteous Reign of the Branch

Seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are listed here ; 1. The Spirit of the LORD, 2. Wisdom, 3. Understanding, 4. Counsel, 5. Fortitude, 6. Knowledge, 7. Fear of the Lord. While some Christians accept these as a definitive list of specific attributes, others understand them merely as examples of the Holy Spirit's work through the faithful. So in other words God will at times bring other gifts to mind as He gifts us to in these Spiritual gifts. The spiritual empowerment of the Messiah shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. 1.    The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him: The Branch that comes from the apparently dead stump isn’t just barely alive. It is full of life, and full of the Spirit of the LORD. We see here that the Messiah has seven – the number of fullness and completion – aspects of the Spirit of the LORD. Also known as the Spirit of Reverence/ Piety: a

GRACE

Karma in India or Hindu philosophy a universal causal law by which good or bad actions determine the future modes of an individual’s existence. Grace is the opposite of karma, which is all about getting what you deserve. Grace is about getting what you don’t deserve. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God In His grace, God is willing to forgive us and bless us, despite the fact that we fall short of living righteously. In Christian terms, grace can be generally defined as “God’s favour toward the unworthy” or “God’s compassion on the undeserving.” Grace is a most important concept in the Bible, Christianity and the world. It is most clearly expressed in the promises God reveals in the scripture and embodied in Jesus Christ. Grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely, the peace of God given to the restless or the unmerited favour of God. Romans 5:12-21 Speaks of death through Adam and life through Christ Romans 5:21 so that as sin reigne
