To Dress and to Keep

Psalm 68:6 In our daily life we often wonder who we are, what we are doing (even in this church). Genesis 1 Man was created  for a purpose - to be in relationship.  Everyone has a free will.  When God made Adam and Eve He gave them some special things.  God is god  of past, present and future.   We need to be ready everyday for  Christ's return. Romans 17-20 We are part of God's creation.   Genesis is the seed bed of the whole Bible.   Where everything is found.  The Old Testament is in New revealed; and the New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed. God is not mysterious.   He wants to be in a daily relationship with us each day.  He created us to be special people.  God has given us a talent to take hold of and use and further His kingdom. Like building a house where there are specialized trades; each comes and the house is built into one.   The same in Church-each of us has a talent given by God to contribute to the body. Genesis 2 (v15)  God has taken each o

Thanking God ….. thanking each other Saturday 28 May 2016 www.thanksgiving.org.au I can’t keep quiet about You. God, my God, I can’t thank you enough. Psalm 30:12 The Message  Imagine a day when the walls of your church are as wide as the boundaries of your community!  Imagine a day when your local government comes to your church for help!  Imagine a day that puts a smile on the faces of the poor and disadvantaged people in your community!  Imagine a day when the lonely find they have a friend!  Imagine a day when the body of Christ across our Nation comes together in one voice of thanks to God for the Nation we live in and the blessings we enjoy in this great Southland of the Holy Spirit!

Heralders of the Gospel ( Part 8)

•  Salvation •  Serve Jesus Paul is writing to Timothy and instructing him to serve Christ. Jesus came to testify about God the Father.  We are called to love and serve God.  We are about serving God.  This is our first duty.  Helping others comes from serving God.  Jesus wasn't just another person in the street.   Jesus came as a rabbi with authority. Jesus is the Son of God.   He had authority.      Jesus told his disciples to love one another.   This is how to reveal God in our lives. 2 Timothy 2 God's word is not chained.  It is always free to do what God wants. If we are faithless;  he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. We need to be faithful to our Captain.   To please Christ.   How do you overcome your sin?  Turn to Christ.   We have the choice.   If God did this we wouldn't have the choice.  Yet God gives us the freedom of choice.  That’s how free God allows us. The prize of the race for an athlete is to finish the race.  A soldier gets inv

Heralders of the Gospel ( Part 7)

2 Timothy 1 : 12-18 We think it's about what God gives to us.  We expect to be given to us.  God abundantly gived to us and we must be a vessel that pours out.  As Christians we don't go to hell but we will stand before the judgment seat of God and answer to the question "what have you done with my Son?" When you have children one of the greatest rewards is to see them take what we have taught them and become responsible, giving and Christ minded people in our community. 2 Timothy 1 : 12-18 Counting all things as rubbish except what matters in eternity.   What is deposited in you in Christ.   Paul has been part in teaching Timothy.  All the times he had plenty won't be asked about.  The assurance of faith consists of trust in Christ. Keep trusting in Jesus to bring you through.   We can know it all? Paul knew it all.  Paul then meets the Lord on the road to Damascus;  Paul doesn't just know about the Lord, he knows the Lord. We can rest in that great gi

Heralders of the Gospel ( Part 6)

2 Timothy 4:1-8 John F Kennedy said "think not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country". Or  "think not what your church can do for you but what you can do for your church". Reputation,  whether we like it or not,  matters.  If people don't see the value of a person;  they won't see the value in a person. Abraham - Genesis 12 God gives us His Word and causes us to preach His Word.  You don't have to strive to be a good person;  you have to trust God. Satan promises good but pays evil; promise pleasure but pays with pain;  promises life but pays with death. What God promises you will have.  Life,  heaven, truth. Holy Spirit works on our conscience.   Our conscience is our advisor and our accuser.  Your conscience will judge you - right or wrong.   People who don't do anything with  their conscience can't be trusted and will lead you astray. Friendship is important.   True friends help you and walk with you
