Walk in the Light

1 John 1:1-10 Choices in life is very important.  The choices you make matter. There  were two men who died in the past year.  Both died in their 90's.  Both grew up in Christian homes.   One chose to fulfil their ministry in God and one chose to fulfil their lusts in this physical life. We must realise who God is.  Acceptance of who God is.  God has ways to help us deal with our sin.  He does not want us to  'flog' ourselves.   The Old Testament sacrifices covered sin; the New Testament tells us our sin is washed clean. If we're going to have fellowship with God, this issue of sin has to be dealt with. 1 John 4 Fellowship begins: Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ- our trust in God.  Nothing we do.  1 John 4:4; 1 John 4:9. We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 There are times when we question if we are saved.  If we want to have fellowship with God we trust Him.   Sometimes we do fall and fail.  It's not about whether we fall or fail; it's what

The Lord's Supper

The Lord's supper is a symbol of the past; what's happening now and what he is doing in our future. God dearly loves you to spend time with Him.  He doesn't want us to spend time with Him.  Parents and Grandparents love to get to know their children. Luke 22:19 When we participate in the Lord's supper we each eat a small piece of bread. Luke 22:20 Whenwe drink a small amount of wine (or grape juice) it represents the bloof of Jesus Christ. OT - blood only covers sin. NT - blood washes away sin. Hebrews 9 God calls us to be a people of greatness in this world.  The bigger picture is that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross provides a way for the  remission of our sins. The death of Jesus Christ is a tremendous gift to us.   It is so precious.  When God gives us a gift and we don't use it; it hurts him.  He wants us to receive the gift of Jesus Christ's death on the cross. The communion meal is a memorial of Jesus' death but it is not a funeral.

Psalm 103

Praise the Lord , my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord , my soul, and forget not all his benefits—  who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,  who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,  who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.  He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:  The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.  He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;  he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;  as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.  As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;  for he

Each day...

When God saves us he justifies us; he sanctifies us, makes us fit for heaven.  He wants us to grow up and mature. The need for Christians to mature and be accountable.  He saves us and gives us mercy.  It's not ok to be saved and live in sin.  He saved us to rise above sin. Ephesians 2:8-10 Romans 12:1-8 Everyday we are to dedicate our body to God each day.   Each day... Not just every now and then, or once a week BUT every day.  1.  We dedicate our body to God each day.  To offer as sacrifices to God. The most spiritual act anyone can do is to dedicate our body to God every day.  Don't give the enemy a foothold.  2. God wants you to eliminate all distractions from your life.   Eg motor cars; health; things. Let God transform your mind.  Let him teach you.   Let God do the work in you.   Yield to God. If you want an act to happen in your body; it has to start in your mind. 3.  Everyone likes a know-it-all...do they??? We need to be ready to excercise wherever God wan
