Living in God's Family (Elders & Deacons)

Bible references: Ps 51; Gal 3; 1 Timothy 3. We all realise that churches are to be governed in theocracy.   Most governments are democracy. God appoints from above whereas our politicians are appointed from below. God wants his church governed by a theocracy.   Leaders who are appointed by God.  A good structure where leadership is respected and the people are respected.  A lot of Australia people have lost respect of church leadership and vice versa. Titus 1:1-9 If you can't run your family how can you run a church?  These leaders, are responsible for the spiritual care of the church.  We are accountable for holding each other up. Hebrews 13:7; 1 Thessalonians 2:5 Abuse does not have a place in God's Family.   Judgement comes first to the house of God.  Leaders should be respected in the local community.  They will have a personal morality.  We put in our faith in Jesus because we love him.  Leaders must have authority in their own family.  Not be arrogant or bossy.  Go

EXPECTATIONS IN GOD'S FAMILY.

1 Tim 2:1-3:16. a.     Believers who accept their responsibility to pray; 2:1-7 1. Because they are priests 1 Pet 2:5 you also as living stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore also it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner Stone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him shall never be ashamed." 7 Therefore to you who believe is the honour. But to those who are disobedient, He is the Stone which the builders rejected; this One came to be the Head of the corner, 8 and a Stone-of-stumbling and a Rock-of-offense to those disobeying, who stumble at the Word, to which they also were appointed. 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light. -            To worship wi

Living In God's Family - Who is Your Influence?

Bible Reference:  1 Timothy 1; There are those who teach the true gospel and those who don't. 1.  Read the Bible 2.  Don't follow a man - Follow Jesus Christ. Paul warns about division about minor matters.  Most divisions that happen usually the participants can't remember what started it.  Christianity is not about lifestyle or religion; it's a living thing that happens in our lives.  It's not about attending church each week it's about a living relationship with Christ. As we read through Acts we find lives transformed. Paul had a past; so do we; formally we did but now we are different.  Acts 24:25-28 If someone has had a past is it ok to feel concerned if they suddenly come to Church would we be concerned?  Yes Once you meet Jesus and accept Him we are changed.   Who changed Paul?  The Holy Spirit works in us.  Believers who continue on, will be in a spiritual war.  1Timothy There will be people around you who want to influence you one way or another

Living In God's Family - We live in relationship

Families run on relationships.   If they run on anything else, it's not relationships. Bible Verses: 1 Timothy 3:14-16 1 Timothy 1:1-20 "Salvation belongs to our Lord" We cannot be saved except by what the Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished on the  cross. If there is any other message other than Christ crucified and raised again on the third day; than it is not the message of the Gospel. Gospel  = Good News! Believers in Christ Jesus belongs to the family of God.  We are to live , love and function in our family. The early church did not run programmes; they loved one another and it reflected to the people around them.   The early church grew rapidly because believers obeyed the command of the Lord to love one another. What a family values comes out in how they behave and what they place importance on. We are called to love one another.   We are a diverse family; living in unity not uniformity. God's family values what God values.

Living as a Christian

It's important how we live.  In Australia, people say it doesn't matter what we do in private.   But it does affect.  Living as a Christian is very important. Bible Reference:  1 Peter 2:21-25 1 Peter chapter 1 Being A True Christian If we don't believe it, then we may as well join a Social club.  Living as a Christian matters.   How we live matters in both our private and public life.   What we do in private will reflect in our public life; what people see. We are to become obedient to Jesus Christ.   Not to the latest program; person; activity. God made a new covenant with the Gentile people because Israel walked away from the covenant God had with them.  He never did away with the covenant He made we with Israel. Romans 6:17-18 You will be with God or be with the enemy.   You will live with and be obedient to God or you will be obedient to the enemy.   Reinhart Bonkhe - a lot of Christians run around and put a bit of holy on.  But to put the blood of Jesus on is
